Robust Detection of Partially Known Signals Elec 530 Final Project
نویسنده
چکیده
The following robust detection problem is considered in this note. The nominal signals are known, but the actual signals present in the observed data can be corrupted slightly. The probability distribution of the noise is known precisely, or some small deviation exists from the nominal model. To derive the robust detector which is insensitive to the corruption of signals and deviation from nominal noise model, we apply the approach in robust hypothesis testing: nd the worst-case signals or signal-noise combination with constrains on the signal corruption and noise modeling deviation.

Design and Evaluation of an EMG-based Recording and Detection System
ii Abstract The project investigates the usability of muscle contractions detected by surface elec-tromyography (EMG) sensors as an input channel for the gestural or subtle control of electric devices. A wearable hardware prototype is presented that consists of a sensor strap and a signal conditioning (amplification and filtering) unit. Signal detection techniques are discussed and an evaluatio...
متن کاملA Novel Method for Detection of Epilepsy in Short and Noisy EEG Signals Using Ordinal Pattern Analysis
Introduction: In this paper, a novel complexity measure is proposed to detect dynamical changes in nonlinear systems using ordinal pattern analysis of time series data taken from the system. Epilepsy is considered as a dynamical change in nonlinear and complex brain system. The ability of the proposed measure for characterizing the normal and epileptic EEG signals when the signal is short or is...
متن کاملAn Experimental Study on Blinking and Eye Movement Detection via EEG Signals for Human-Robot Interaction Purposes Based on a Spherical 2-DOF Parallel Robot
Blinking and eye movement are one of the most important abilities that most people have, even people with spinal cord problem. By using this ability these people could handle some of their activities such as moving their wheelchair without the help of others. One of the most important fields in Human-Robot Interaction is the development of artificial limbs working with brain signals. The purpos...

Sonic Echo (SE) testing method is a well-known, versatile method to gather information pertaining to unknown bridge foundations. Many studies on the applicability and methodology improvement of SE tests to evaluate individual piles and foundations supporting the superstructure have been reported previously. However, there is a rare opportunity for obtaining the performance of SE tests without t...
متن کاملDeveloping Robust Project Scheduling Methods for Uncertain Parameters
A common problem arising in project management is the fact that the baseline schedule is often disrupted during the project execution because of uncertain parameters. As a result, project managers are often unable to meet the deadline time of the milestones. Robust project scheduling is an effective approach in case of uncertainty. Upon adopting this approach, schedules are protected against po...
